"The Tea"

Last year was our very first annual "Tea" of what I hope to me many more to come. We had 20 tables and I hosted one. I enjoyed it so much. I invited an online friend and we got to meet for the first time. It was awesome.
Love you, Laurie and look forward to having Tea with you again this year...

I did a citric theme on my table with bight sunny colors and the first pix are of my dishes and centerpiece which consisted of tulips in a water pitcher and I placed orange, lemon and lime slices in the water to tie my colors together. Smelled nice too.

Here are some pix of my table. My table cloth was orange gingham and the napkins were yellow, lime and turquoise gingham, two of each color.

Here are shots of my guests one being Laurie in the above shot...

I had such a wonderful time last year and looking forward to the "Tea" again this year and I CAN'T WAIT to share my new colors and theme. Stay tuned...

Chocolate Peanut-butter Easter Egg

Our church does an annual fundraiser for Mother's Memorial. Chocolate Peanut-butter Easter Eggs and they are one heck of a hit in this community!
We make and sell them to fill many Easter baskets around here.
The process of making them is so much fun.
Several ladies of the church get together and we have a blast.
Here are a few pix of some we made this year...

I only sold 25 this year but went out and made my deliveries today.

And Guess who had to have one for ourselves:D

Scrumptious Sunday Swap

Thanks to Dawn's Diversions I thought it would great to participate in Scrumptious Sunday Swap. If you'd like to get your little hands on some great recipes then click on the above link and join in on the fun!

To me, the BEST recipes are the ones you KNOW people use.

Our Sunday Breakfast...

Many of my friends have told me they have never heard of Chocolate Garvy before. You don't know what you are missing!!!!

Chocolate Gravy

3/4 C sugar

4 tbsp cocoa

4 tbsp flour

2 cups milk

Mix dry ingredients in a saucepan. Slowly stir in Milk and Whisk while bringing to a boil. Stir almost constantly until gravy thickens.

Once the gravy is done, remove from heat & add:

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 stick butter

Easy and fun for the family. Good when served over biscuits but my favorite is served over Pancakes topped with bananas or strawberries.

ENJOY!!

Measure My Monday~

Today I would measure my Monday as a "Mild Monday"...

No big plans today! I enjoy a day once in a while where all I do is rest and relax. Ahhhh~

I did wake with a mild, nagging headache this morning that I am still trying to get rid of but I am doing as little as possible outside of sitting in my recliner with my laptop. I am catching up on all my world of online friends, blogging, a few minor computer projects and surfing the local online classifieds looking for a new job. Still have my job at the shop but feel in my gut that it is time for a change.

Had a wonderful weekend and some great services yesterday! We had a Missions Conference and our Sunday School Kids put on a program that turned out to be awesome! Here are a few Pix of our children representing ministers across the world and countries that we help minister to...
Ministers around the world...

Greece

India

Africa

Hawaii

Ireland

China

Mexico...and so many more...

This evening, if I feel up to it; I will be going to the fellowship hall where we a bunch of us ladies will be starting our annual fundraiser where we make Chocolate peanut butter eggs and sell them to raise funds for our ladies ministries across the world. It is a lot of fun to get together as making them is all the fun in the annual fund raiser. Here is a pic of the ones I made for Lexi & Charity last year. They both get one every year! Can't wait to get started!!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Wordless Wednesday

I want to give you a GIFT

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year. (ha! 10 whole months :)
4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! I do promise fabulosity here friends...

Family Jewel

I was over joyed when Lexi(my niece)ask if she could come spend the week-end with me.
I take her up on it every chance I get. Even though I know she loves me, she does not always want to come when I want her too. Now that she is older, she has friends that she enjoys spending time with, a granny that always has her cousins over on the big farm with lots of running room and fun things to do or now chooses to go with her mom to spend time with her future dad.

It rained on Saturday which spoiled out outdoor time. So we stopped by the square on Sunday afternoon and let her run around and play for a while. She LOVES the outdoors.

Here are some snaps I took while she was playing and a few poses I had her to squeeze in there. I was tickled pink to have had time with one of my little family jewels...

I think she had a good time....I know I did!

Defying the Odds.

Years ago when my daughter was young. Her Dr's tried to get me to put her on disability. They told me she would never be able to hold down a job because of all that she had been through and the effect that it had on her socially and emotionally. I was told it would cause her problems all of her life and it would be easier to get her on disability at her young age rather than waiting. I refused to label her and chose right then and there to leave it all in God's hands.

Several years later...

My daughter just had her one year review with her job at Walmart and not only did she exceed everything on the charts, she was told that she was THE friendliest/best customer service clerk they had on schedule and told her they see her going far with Walmart if she so chooses. AND she was given a Customer Service Excellence Award.

Not only did I want to share how proud I am of her but to share our testimony in giving God praise for what He did in her life by honoring the faith that I placed in Him for her healing.

GOD IS GOOD!!
